Description
Robotics Enrichment Program (REP)
This multi-year program is designed to take students from foundational robotics principles to advanced concepts, preparing them for competitive robotics and further STEM education. It's the perfect, hands-on complement to the broad, creative problem-solving skills learned in our SEP program.
REP I: Foundations of Robotics
Students build a strong base, learning about simple mechanisms, drivetrains, and how to use sensors for autonomous control.
REP II: Advanced LEGO Robotics
Students engineer complex mechanical systems, integrate multiple sensors, and tackle sophisticated design challenges.

All of our staff hold degrees, have passed extensive background checks, and receive specialized training, making the magical experience at STEAMwhiz what it is. They are led by Co-Founder Allie Pulecio, a master educator with over 20 years of teaching and STEM curriculum development experience. The curriculum is overseen by Co-Founder Dr. Javier F. Pulecio (Dr. J), who holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences and has worked as a physicist and engineer at premier U.S. research institutions and Fortune 100 companies. Together, they are driven by their passion to empower students with the analytical and critical thinking skills necessary for the future.
Frequently Asked Questions
The REP program is designed for students ages 9-14 who are interested in engineering, building, and programming. REP I is ideal for those new to robotics, while REP II is for students ready to tackle more advanced mechanical and programming challenges.
Students learn the entire engineering design process, from brainstorming and prototyping to testing and iterating. They work in pairs, rotating partners each semester to learn how to collaborate with different working styles. They document their progress in an engineering notebook and end each semester with a friendly challenge to showcase their skills.
The REP program is the perfect training ground for competitive robotics. Students learn the foundational skills in building robust drivetrains, complex mechanisms, and autonomous programs that are essential for success in VEX IQ and other robotics competitions.
Each semester includes a built-in Innovation Lab Week, which typically aligns with a school holiday break (like Thanksgiving or Spring Break). This week serves as the primary opportunity for any student who may have missed a class to catch up on their work. For students with perfect attendance, it becomes a fun, free Bonus Lab where they can apply their new skills, work on passion projects, and get personalized mentorship from our instructors.
We understand that plans can change. For our Semester and Full-Year plans, you can receive a full refund for any future, un-started semester by providing notice at least two weeks before its start date. Because we purchase materials and finalize staffing based on enrollment, we are unable to offer refunds for a semester that is already in progress. Read our full policy here.
